Seeking a candidate to fill the role of Athletics and Special Events Coordinator under the supervision of the Manager, Events and Marketing and the Executive Director Athletics and Physical Activity.

The selected individual will play a pivotal role in managing the organization of Varsity Blues and high-performance events in adherence to University, FKPE, and U Sport/OUA guidelines.

As part of the events and marketing team, the coordinator will assist in the planning and execution of various Intercollegiate events.

Responsibilities include coordinating event teams, ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating event calendars, analyzing client needs, determining logistical details, liaising with stakeholders, overseeing event set up, conducting evaluations, training staff, and managing event staffing schedules.


  • Analyzing client needs and offering event logistics recommendations
  • Determining logistical details for in-game and remote events
  • Coordinating event set up and schedules for onsite and remote events
  • Managing visual venue set up and AV requirements
  • Coordinating event elements and materials, including game outlines
  • Conducting post-event evaluations and providing recommendations
  • Training and overseeing casual, work-study, and volunteer staff
  • Coordinating event staff schedules for full coverage
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree and a certificate in event management or equivalent.

  • Minimum three years of experience in sport event administration and coordination, preferably in a University or College setting or professional sport environment
  • Minimum three years of experience in overseeing staff
  • Proficiency in in-game production elements and sponsorship activations
  • Knowledge of spectator sporting events and intercollegiate event management
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work in a time-sensitive environment
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and customer service
  • Assets: familiarity with OUA and U Sports game day software, experience in physical education programs

Schedule:
Full-Time - evening and weekend availability required
