Job Duties:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, considering material costs, labour requirements and any subcontracted services
  • Maintain and develop relationships with current and potential general contractors
  • Source and develop new trade partners and prime vendors
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware that enhance the visual appeal and functionality of the millwork products
  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to understand project requirements, design intent and functional needs
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain accurate materials, finishes and hardware pricing
  • Review project budgets and ensure cost estimates align with the budgetary constraints set by the client
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the millwork production team to ensure design feasibility, provide necessary clarifications during the manufacturing process, and relay design changes, modifications, or special considerations that may arise during the project
  • Ability to work in an office in a fastpaced environment
  • Participate in project meetings and visits to project sites as needed
  • Perform other related duties as needed
  • Follow standard Health and Safety Guidelines and company procedures and guidelines

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Understanding of construction methods, millwork manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques
  • Familiar with millwork materials, finishes, hardware, and their associated costs
  • Experience in analyzing project specifications, drawings, and related documentation to determine material quantities and cost requirements
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in millwork estimation
  • Familiar with millwork production processes, materials, finishes and construction techniques
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, project managers and production team members
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced millwork environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
