Social Supports Manager Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:


As part of the Programs Department, the Social Support Team delivers culturally relevant and responsive counseling and case management services to Black youth aged 14+ who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET).

Reporting to the Director of Program & Service Delivery, the Manager of Social Support Team will lead the development and delivery of the trauma-informed and holistic wraparound support designed for Black youth.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of case management model, as well as culturally responsive counseling services for Black youth who may have mental health concerns.

In addition, the position is part of CEE's Management Team, ensuring that all services are aligned with CEE's strategic directions in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.


Reports to:

Director of Programs and Service Delivery

Responsibilities:

Service Delivery & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and oversee the delivery of Social Support Team's services to ensure that youth receive culturally relevant, traumainformed, and holistic wraparound support
  • Oversee client intake process, staff and teamwide portfolio management including qualitative and quantitative data management
  • Provide staff and interns/practicum students with ongoing clinical supervision and case consultation
  • Collaborate with other Departmental staff, such as Program Delivery Team, to ensure all services and programs are being delivered in a timely manner
  • Work alongside the Director of Programs & Service Delivery and wider CEE teams to design and implement annual operational plan for the Social Support Team that aligns with the strategic vision of CEE
  • Ensure that the appropriate measures are taken proactively to manage the safeguarding of CEE service users and risk mitigation for the organization
  • Ensure planning and rollout of high impact, sustainable Social Support Team services that are wellintegrated into the Programs Department
  • Oversee daytoday operations and service delivery in partnership with other teams within the Programs Department
  • Crisis Management: Work in tandem with the Social Support Team and other team members to help youth who may be facing a crisis situation
  • Stay up to date on relevant research and service innovations/models in Black youth mental health
  • Budget oversight and report writing for both internal and external stakeholders
People Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit and provide ongoing supervision, training, coaching and performance management of staff
  • Provide the team with required tools, support and directions to ensure service compliance in the areas of evaluation, foreseen/unforeseen risk, funder deliverables and all other policies and procedures
  • Create a culture and practices that support resiliency among clients and staff
  • Manage each staff's KPI and teamwide data collection for program reporting and evaluation purposes
  • Support staff in addressing client emergency or conflict situations
  • Plan and implement staff wellness strategies to ensure staff support in a high
- needs environment

  • Identify staff training and professional development needs, create training plans and procures, and implement training support as required
  • Supervise placement students and/or volunteers as required
Management and Organizational Responsibilities

  • Develop the CEE's Black youth focused case management model and service framework in conjunction with CEE's programs
  • Provide oversight and management of external service providers/community partner relationship that may benefit clients and Social Support Team
  • Contribute to the CEE's strategic direction, future growth and visibility in the sector as part of CEE's Management Team
  • Act as a representative and advocate of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion on behalf of CEE and Social Support Team
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organizational wide priorities and translate this into action as it relates to the Social Support Team
  • Gather information for additional funding opportunities to support the sustainable growth of Social Support Team
  • Develops funding proposals in collaboration with the Director of Programs & Service Delivery and/or CEE Management team as required
  • Support the values of CEE
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs & Service Delivery in response to a rapidly changing environment

Qualifications:

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required

  • A thorough understanding of challenges, needs and realities of Black youth in Toronto's priority neighborhoods
  • Understanding of the impact of trauma, antiBlack racism and social determinants of health and how they manifest in Black youth
  • At least 5 years of professional experience working with Black/racialized youth. Direct experience in social service delivery to you
