Company Overview:
Our client is a pioneering force in transforming the oil sands mining industry, listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange and the OTCQX. With a focus on environmental performance and clean technology innovation, our client has developed a patented technology that reprocesses froth treatment tailings to recover additional hydrocarbons and critical minerals while significantly reducing CO2e emissions. As they consider diversifying their business through investments in clean technologies, they are seeking an experienced Manager/Director of Engineering to join the niche team of experts.
Position Overview:
As the Manager/Director of Engineering, you will play a central role in driving strategy to commercialize their patented technology and explore opportunities in other clean technologies. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will collaborate with the executive management team and their high-caliber Board of Directors to execute project development strategies, evaluate engineering packages for potential investments, and provide technical expertise across multiple projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic public company with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and technological advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute project development strategies for the deployment of their proprietary technology in various scenarios.
- Coordinate with industry partners and represent the company on owner's committees related to project execution.
- Evaluate engineering packages and potential investments to support key business objectives.
- Provide technical, regulatory, environmental, and reclamation expertise for identified projects.
- Manage technical aspects of projects from initial assessments through due diligence exercises.
- Support advanced technical and infrastructure development for additional value creation.
- Collaborate with the corporate leadership team to create and communicate marketing documentation.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), geoscientist, process engineering or equivalent.
- Strong track record in engineering, project management, and capital-intensive projects.
- PMP certification and knowledge of Project Management Process.
- Experience in clean technologies and a passion for sustainability.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage risk, and drive work to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a small team and independently when required.
