Job Description Summary:

The Managed Equipment Services (MES) Procurement Specialist will a part of the MES operations team and be responsible for sourcing and purchasing medical devices and equipment as required by MES contracts.

You will be responsible for managing Request for Proposals (RFP) and sole sourcing procurements, ensuring the quality, technology band, and cost-effectiveness of the products they purchase, as well as managing supplier relationships and keeping up to date on market trends.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Program Manager(s), manage all aspects of MES procurements as set out in the equipment replacement plan.
  • Work with the customer to understand procurement direction.
  • Manage multiple procurements simultaneously.
  • Provide consultation to customer to optimize procurements while minimizing disruptions to clinical flow.
  • Assemble customer facing RFP document packages Work with the customer to ensure contractual timelines are met.
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of products
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, orders, and deliveries.
  • Keep uptodate with industry trends, new product releases, and technological advancements in the field of medical devices.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers or product lines.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including project managers, operations, service, legal, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensures project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into project planning scenario.
  • Responsible for monitoring progress and producing accurate projections and forecasting
  • Ensures other functions have access to accurate current reports and projections and relevant reports are available for the customer.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Experience in Program Management and/or Project Management & Project Planning.
  • Previous experience in responding to Request for Proposals (RFP) and/or publishing RFPs
  • Understanding of Broader Public Sector (BPS) directive
  • Knowledge of medical devices and equipment and the ability to stay current with the latest trends and technological advancements in the field.
  • Strong, established, project management skills
  • Experience in contract management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
