We have an innovative legal and compliance team, comprised of more than 80 dedicated professionals, that participates as business partners to support Air Canada's strategic objectives.

The Position
- Prepare certain proceedings in accordance with instructions from paralegals and lawyers;
- Receive service by bailiff or other means;
- Calculate and insert court deadlines in the calendars of those responsible for the file and in the internal filing system;
- Open, update and close files;
- Communicate with customers, courts and various internal departments within the company;
- Update presentations, letters, internal tools and other documents as needed;
- Organize and schedule meetings for the team as required;
Qualifications
- College degree
- Be adaptable and flexible to work effectively in a context of rapid change and to grasp opportunities to learn and build knowledge.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convey messages and thoughts clearly, concisely, persuasively, to form compelling arguments based on facts, logic and law, to listen and question appropriately to gain full understanding, and to tailor the message appropriately to the particular audience.
- A passion for learning and gaining a deep understanding of the business to more effectively support strategies and objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong desire to participate as part of a team, to collaborate, support, empower and guide the team (when appropriate), with an ability to contribute to a shared sense of direction;
- Inclination to take initiative and be proactive and to offer to assist and support coworkers, resourcefulness, and ability to handle work independently, taking responsibility for own actions;
- Demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and good judgment when interacting with customers and in handling sensitive and confidential information;
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Outlook;
- Experience working the legal field is necessary, and experience in litigation is an asset;
- Experience in customer claims management and in with the court system in more than one Canadian province an asset;
- Knowledge of the industry is also an asset.
