Bridges for Women Society , a feminist, strengths-based agency with 35 years of experience providing employment services for women with a background of abuse and trauma, is searching for an Executive Director to lead their dedicated team in Victoria, BC.

Bridges inspires women affected by trauma, violence, or abuse to reclaim their lives and build financial security through the healing, education, and employment programs they offer.

The Executive Director develops and provides visionary leadership to empower a committed service team, and enhances community and funding relationships through planning and management.

In alignment with the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operational, and fiscal management of the Bridges for Women Society.

This will include leading, coaching and mentoring the employees, supporting and overseeing new initiatives, monitoring and enhancing existing programs, developing and nurturing external stakeholder relations, and directing fundraising and communications activities.

Bridges for Women Society offers:

An in office 32 hour/per week (4 days per week) role

Our ideal Executive Director brings:

~ A Master's Degree in social sciences, public administration, business management, leadership is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
~5+ years of senior management experience working in a not-for-profit organization, ideally with a Board of Directors.
~ Demonstrated understanding of domestic violence and the effects of trauma on adult survivors of domestic violence and the children exposed to domestic violence is required.
~ Experience with matters related to poverty, trauma, homelessness, mental health and/or addictions.
~ Experience working with cross-sector teams and/or a combination of public and private sector groups, particularly with government, not-for-profit organizations, and First Nations.
~ Experience managing complex tasks and projects including finances, forecasting, budgets, fundraising and program management, project management, and policy development.
~ Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder groups and managing sub-contracting and accountability processes with multiple Stakeholders and/or Funders.
~ These Skills and Abilities will help you thrive:

Strong contract negotiation and conflict management skills.
Using and leading others in computer /internet software systems for online education programs and office applications.

Bridges for Women Society:

Bridges for Women Society is a not-for-profit, charitable agency with 34 years of experience in employment services for women with a background of abuse and trauma.

Their innovative, trauma-informed healing, education and employment programs inspire a diversity of women.

The women they serve, who are impacted by trauma, violence, abuse, or neglect, are given the tools and support to reclaim their lives and build economic security.

Bridges draws on its extensive knowledge of the impacts of abuse on employability to provide education, training and consulting to community agencies, employers, and government.

Their services are open to all women (transgender and cisgender), non-binary, and two-spirit people who identify as a part of the women's community and who have been impacted by violence or trauma at any time in their lives.
