This is a Canada Summer Job (CSJ)

Responsibilities:
As the
Funding Officer at CACD you will be engaged in a variety of activities ranging from, but not limited to:

  • Research grant-providing organization's guidelines and update funding charts and analyze them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of the organization and use that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs for which grants will be sought and to recommend the seeking of grants.
  • To identify and recruit new supporters and develop relationships with existing supporters in the corporate and community arenas, adhering to service standards designed to ensure optimum supporter care.
  • To build relationships on a sustainable basis with volunteer fundraisers, both individuals and groups together with companies and business network groups and to respond effectively to all offers of fundraising support.
  • To assist with a plan that will maximize opportunities for fundraising with businesses, community groups, clubs, societies, and other groupings who have the potential to generate income for the organization.
  • To assist with progress reports to any grantmaking organization that has funded a program
  • Work closely with the organization's event planner, fundraising committee, and marketing & outreach coordinator

Qualifications:

  • University degree in an finance, business, funding, planning, etc.
- professional experience in project management/evaluation, ideally related to one or more technical sustainable community development area, and in a client focused role

  • Strong knowledge and experience in one or more technical areas of community development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Strong organizational skills, priority management skills, and ability to manage multiple files
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills and sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiar with Google and Microsoft Suite

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 2 months

Pay:
$16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required
