Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s.

FundraisingDevelops and implements comprehensive plans for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts in assigned portfolio, including some individual, corporate, and charitable foundation donorsAssists with grant applications as appropriate
Prepares and delivers high quality proposals, presentations and other communications material to donors and prospective donors to maximize engagement opportunities
Helps build the culture of philanthropy internally by fostering a sense of purpose and engagement among employees, encouraging participation in charitable initiatives, and recognizing and celebrating acts of generosity and community involvement
Donor Relationship Management, Engagement and RecognitionDevelops strategies to deepen relationships with donors, employing moves management techniques to ensure meaningful engagement and continued supportAttends networking events and social engagements to cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and existing donors
Leverages the Park and considers relationship-building efforts aimed at increasing donor involvement and investment
Works closely with colleagues to provide donors with opportunities for meaningful engagement, such as intimate donor receptions, site visits, program updates, and volunteer opportunities
Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work-related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment policy
Actively support a positive work environment through creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability, and a focus on long-term benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as non-profit management, fundraising, communications, or business administration)Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in major gifts fundraising with a proven track record for closing gifts at the $25K+ level
Strong persuasive writing skills
Exceptional planning, organization, project management, prioritization, and time-management skills are required to manage multiple on-going projects simultaneously
Strategic, analytical, interpretive and evaluation skills are considered an asset
Strong administrative and technical skills, including experience in MS Office software, desktop publishing, website maintenance and donor management software - experience with Raiser's Edge a definite asset
Working knowledge of the Calgary and area giving community
A valid driver's license required with access to a vehicle for travel within the Calgary region
