CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA
Employees of the CMPA are critical to the success of the organization.

The Organizational Learning & Collaboration department will support the CMPA's human capital and help realize the Association's vision of becoming a learning organization.

The department's core activities include employee learning strategy, design, development & delivery, and collaboration leadership and support.

Organizational Learning & Collaboration incorporates needs assessment, design, delivery, and evaluation within a continuous improvement cycle to deliver learning to CMPA employees and Council members.

The department offers a blended learning approach that combines both online and on-site educational methods for its learners, which include employees, leadership and Council.

Organizational Learning & Collaboration partners closely with the People and Culture team to foster skills building and professional development.

The department encourages a growth mindset and engagement in relevant topics and trends that help the CMPA stay current in the workforce.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Collaborations and Collaboratives; Two fundamental ways in which to improve the way that we work together at CMPA.
The Collaborative Program Lead is responsible for identifying collaboration opportunities and supporting collaborative groups and activities.

The incumbent applies functional and technical knowledge to ensure employees and stakeholders are well supported, achieve meaningful results and that participants have an excellent learner experience.

The Lead will be launching a Collaboratives Program focused on leveraging collaboration opportunities at CMPA in support of collaboratives.

We define "collaboratives" as evidence-driven improvement or innovation projects aligned with CMPA Strategic Plans that gather appropriate collaborators in seeking improvement in specific topic areas towards a shared and measurable aim. Connecting cross-functional groups to identify priorities and collaborative ways of working together will be key to the success of this role.


Instrumental in shaping this innovative new way of working, the Lead will conduct an environmental scan and mapping, learning assessment, and preparing recommendations for ongoing program development.

The vision is to build a program where over time the values of collaboration will be integrated into corporate culture.


The Collaborative Program Lead is a dynamic individual who loves working with people by facilitating collaborations in meetings and guiding them through challenging group work.

They manage the Collaboratives Program and the life cycle of each collaborative group.

This support includes accountability for program management, data management, issues resolution, and the generation of various reports and documentation in support of the function.

Acting as a liaison for participants, the Lead is the first point of contact for the program. The Lead collaborates with the OLC team on developing learning sessions that pave the way for their work. They play an active role in measuring the process improvement initiatives.

This individual follows trends in organizational development, workplace pedagogy and adult learning, and is driven by a passion for developing high-quality blended learning experiences.


POSITION ACTIVITIES

  • Delivers the Collaborative Program and support related collaboration group efforts, as part of the OLC department.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for program delivery. This includes establishing clear project schedules, timelines, resourcing requirements, tracking budgets, identifying risk and mitigation strategies, reviewing technical work, and supporting the project as required.
  • Applies proven theories, practices, models, and developing trends to optimize instructional design and development to enhance the learner's experience.
  • Ensures that products are developed and maintained in accordance with corporate requirements, CMPA guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Remains current on industry standards and makes recommendations on equipment, systems, software that comply with corporate standards and protocols.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the OLC Team by continuously improving CMPA learning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 79 years of relevant work experience in coordinating corporate committees or working groups and adult learning activities
  • Program management experience including leading crossfunctional teams
  • Specialized certifications and/or professional designations in relevant discipline
  • Understanding of good governance practices related to executive level education
  • Proficient in digital learning platforms, specifically MS Teams and Zoom
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite, databases, and learning software is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of business process improvement, agile and/or change manage
