Accounting Assistant Full Time

Responsibilities
- Performing trips to the bank to make deposits when needed
- Creating invoices and preparing billing documents for Clients with different criteria
- Generating reports from QuickBooks
- Managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Reconciling statements (credit card, etc.)
- Coordinate with Professional Service Manager on project invoicing
- Follow up on past due invoices and provide weekly reports to the Controller
- Accurately keep track of sales orders and provide weekly reports to the Controller
- Create monthly reports for Sales Reps and Ontario Education Collaborative Markets
- Assist in Year End closing
- Create Ad Hoc reports as requested by the Corporate Controller
- Answer and redirect phone calls and take adequate messages when required
- Support the Corporate Controller and back up for Purchaser
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic Accounting skills required
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Proficient in creating excel sheets for the Controller
- Self starter who can work with mínimal supervision
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous accounting experience REQUIRED
- Proven organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have a positive, professional attitude
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times
- Works well in a team environment
- MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION BILLNG EXPERIENCE
Salary:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mississauga, ON L5N 2M2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
