As the Senior Actuarial Consultant, your main focus will be on the reserving aspect within Corporate Actuarial. You will work closely with our business partners to address their requirements and oversee intricate projects to devise unique solutions aimed at enhancing the profitability of property and casualty (P&C) business lines.

How You Will Make a Difference:
  • Contribute to regulatory and strategic reserving analyses by utilizing actuarial models, a variety of data sources, and programming languages.
  • Support Financial Condition Testing (FCT), Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA), and other capital modeling initiatives using specialized software and diverse data sources.
  • Analyze business partners' needs, conduct research across multiple data sources, and identify actuarial requirements to create innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, conduct peer reviews, and offer guidance and expertise to team members to foster their growth.
  • Coach and mentor team members to aid in their development and cultivate a team-oriented environment that emphasizes collaboration and innovation.

Requirements to Join Our Team:
  • Hold a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Possess six years of relevant experience in the property and casualty actuarial domain.
  • Have advanced knowledge of modeling software and programming languages.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of P&C insurance products, emerging trends, and best practices in the actuarial realm.
  • Posess or be working towards ACAS or FCAS designations as an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English is crucial for the core responsibilities of this role, which include serving and communicating mainly with clients, groups, and teams predominantly non-francophone, drafting complex English documents, and providing daily reports to anglophone leaders. Assigning the essential non-French duties to adjacent or other team members is not feasible.
