Major Purpose


Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture, the Talent & Culture Specialist will play an integral role within the HR team.

As a cornerstone of our recruitment efforts, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating the entire recruitment process, from the initial outreach to the final decision.

You will not only meet and exceed recruitment metrics but also nurture a rich, diverse talent pool that aligns with our organizational values and goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand the requirements and expectations of each role and create effective job descriptions and hiring strategies.
  • Act as an advisor to managers on hiring decisions, craft and deliver employment offers, and manage relationships with external recruitment vendors.
  • Lead the development of ongoing improvements of the recruitment process by utilizing data gathered by tracking and analyzing recruitment metrics.
  • Provide timely reporting on recruitment efforts and analytics, including open positions status, quality of hires, time to fill, etc.
  • Assist with the Company's compensation strategy by analyzing industry trends and conducting salary surveys to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Develop and lead various employer branding initiatives to help promote the company as an employer of choice in North America as well as the UK.
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System while ensuring data integrity as well as recommend and oversee modifications or changes in vendors.
  • Manage and enhance the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless and effective integration into the company's culture and policies.
  • Monitor legislative developments and update company policies and procedures accordingly to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Assist the HR Generalist with various HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement, performance management, training and development, etc.
  • Actively contribute to the company's Social, Health & Safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility committees as needed.

Required Skills:

Continuous Learning: A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required, along with your CHRP designation, or progress toward it. You should also be committed to keeping abreast of the latest HR trends and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop strategic approaches to recruitment, employee retention, and organizational culture. This includes understanding the broader business objectives and aligning HR initiatives accordingly.

Knowledge of Employment Law: Excellent knowledge of applicable laws such as the ESA, OHRC, AODA, PIPEDA, etc.

Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) such as ClearCompany or greenhouse and other related technology tools that facilitate recruitment and HR analytics. Demonstrated understanding and interest in the emerging AI market and incorporating the technology in our processes.

Employee Relations and Engagement: Skills in fostering positive employee relations and enhancing employee engagement. Ability to address and resolve workplace conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
