JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal:

  • Assist with reviewing commercial agreements and related contractual documents and forms
  • Assisting with legal projects around records management
  • Assisting with product development projects
  • Company internal policy and procedure drafting and review
  • Assisting with the review of marketing materials
  • Preparing articles/bulletins on emerging legal and regulatory issues for business awareness
  • Conducting legal research and preparing memorandums of law for Senior Counsel
  • Assist with litigation matters

Procurement and Operations:

  • Reviews inventory of all third party vendor contracts and helps management with reporting and storage
  • Reviews Business Continuity Plans for all lines of business and supports updates and integration into new global BCP system
  • Analyzes account specific information and summarizes information and findings for Underwriter review (i.e. loss information, description of operations, financials, risk control reports).
  • Works as a liaison between the field and processing centers to ensure timely account setup, clearing, rating, issuance and renewal prep activities.
  • Coordinates account processing and servicing.
  • Assists in project execution for Auto line of business
  • Independently prepares and executes underwriting/pricing exhibits including updated exposures, rating and pricing worksheets, and updated account information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently completing a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with strong academic performance.
  • Proven track record in customer service with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical, organizational and time management skills; must be detailoriented.
  • Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Previous experience working in a property & casualty insurance company is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is considered an asset.
