Position Responsibilities

  • Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is seeking a pool of parttime
    instructors in the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) program. As an instructor you will draw upon your experience in early childhood education and a variety of resources to teach both certificate and diploma
- level courses. This work will occur on RDP's main campus with the possibility of online teaching. Preference will be given to successful applicants that are available to teach On-Campus at RDP. Instructional times are dependent on assigned workload.

  • We are recruiting for a pool of parttime instructors for the Academic year.
The start and end dates of the semesters are as follows:

  • Fall term starts Aug 14, 2024 and ends Dec 23,202
  • Winter term starts (if new) Dec 17,2024 and ends Apr 28,202
  • Spring Term starts (if new) Apr 24,2025 and ends June 27,202

Educational Assistant

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline or diploma in ECE with degree in process
  • A minimum of five (5) years of fulltime experience working in a variety of early childhood program environments for children (birth to age 8), such as day care, preschool, or schoolage care
  • Demonstrated awareness/knowledge of the document: "Flight: Alberta's Early Learning Framework"
  • A willingness to teach
    oncampus multiple days per week each term.
  • Demonstrated evidence of working in a collaborative setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related field
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience or similar experience teaching adult learners
  • Familiarity using Blackboard as a Learning Management System
  • Experience teaching adult English language learners
