Personal Support Worker

This position is available immediately and is for a PSW Companion Worker.

Rate of pay is 25.00 per hour plus reimbursement for any travel or out of pocket expenses related to those tasks outlined below.

The position is 10 hours per week, start time 9 a.m., end time 2 p.m.

The successful applicant will work one on one with a private client who resides in a long term care facility.


Location:
Sienna Grange Ridge LTC (Meadow House), 5501 Abbott Street, Stittsville, Ontario.

Responsibilitie:

  • Assist with the overall care and comfort of the client
  • Companion care
  • Cognitive stimulation
  • Assist the client in planning activities for the day/week
  • Daily time outdoors ((wheelchair) (weather permitting)
  • Ensure the client is transferred in/out of bed/chair as directed
  • Assist with meals and provide feeding as necessary
  • Ensure appropriate hydration and access to snacks
  • Support the client in managing spiritual needs (including reading to the client, taking the client to on site services and any other relevant events as requested)
  • Assist the client in being able to watch TV (enjoys sports/documentaries) and radio (passion for music and CBC Radio)
  • Assist the client with making telephone calls as directed
  • Monitor the LTC calendar of events and ensure the client is informed and scheduled for activities of interest
  • Update family contact text group at the end of each shift regarding overall performance and share any concerns or requests you may have

Part-time hours: 10 per week

Salary:
From $25.00 per hour
