About the Position

Discovering improved methods to supply essential materials worldwide.

We are seeking versatile Heavy Equipment Operators responsible for managing mobile equipment to support Surface Operations, ensuring optimal production levels safely and efficiently. The primary duties of the Equipment Operator include operating various heavy equipment under the direct supervision of the Surface Operations Supervisor or assigned personnel.

Reporting to the Surface Operations Supervisor, you will work on a rotation of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, including weekends and holidays. Overtime opportunities may be available during peak summer periods. Rotations will consist of 12-hour shifts each day.

Your Qualifications

  • Holding a class 5 driver's license.
  • Strong literacy skills crucial for understanding manuals and written instructions.
  • Preferably, a minimum of five years' experience as a versatile heavy equipment operator.
  • Over two years' experience operating Excavators in a mining environment, including EX2600 & EX1200 models.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating various heavy machinery safely and efficiently, such as 16H Grader, D10/D6 Dozer, Komatsu articulating trucks, Komatsu 785, and 40t Excavator.
  • Competent in the safe operation of different heavy equipment in Surface Operations.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to take the initiative and collaborate effectively within a team or independently.
  • Adheres to high conduct standards and demonstrates ethical work practices.
  • Shows respect, self-motivation, discipline, and understands the importance of confidentiality in professional and personal matters.

Additional Details

Having Northern residency experience and working in a diverse environment, along with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities in northern regions, is advantageous. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are part of the DDMI Participation Agreement Groups and those residing in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Territories.
