About the role

The Senior Advisor, Training role offers an exceptional opportunity ensuring training systems and programs are in place and working effectively to ensure new and existing employees are set up for success as they progress along their career growth journeys. You will be responsible and accountable for supervising the training advisor team to ensure those safety programs and projects are delivered according to Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation standards.

The position will be on a 5/2 – 4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roaster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario with NO FIFO eligibility. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Oversee all instructors and site-wide training programs at RLO
  • Act as the site signing authority for Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development modules.
  • Monitor and evaluate training activities and continuously improve site training modules as required to ensure optimum training effectiveness
  • Manage employee induction process and onboarding, ensuring it is administered thoroughly & efficiently
  • Organize training with external training providers, when required
  • Ensure training records and documents are meticulously maintained
  • Determine site-wide, departmental, and individual training needs by maintaining communication with management team and performing yearly training needs analyses
  • Work on and provide feedback for yearly department budgeting activities
  • Keep current on ministry regulations that affect training requirements
  • Provide support to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee

About you

As the Senior Advisor, Training you will have a certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety or similar.

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:

  • A Valid Class G Driver's License & access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid Certification
  • 5 years' experience supervising and managing employees or 10+ experience working in the mining industry, including 3 years in a training role
  • Solid understanding of INX computer system
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
