The incumbent is responsible to support Mail operations to fulfill their signage requirements. Signs and labels are used in the sorting, processing and despatching of all products in the Mail Processing Plant. The incumbent performs general office duties such as typing, filing, telephone answering and other duties as required.

This requires knowledge of the function in which they operate as well as working knowledge of various corporate menu driven systems and corporate software packages.


Responsibilities:

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Clerk, Signage:

  • Designs and creates signs, labels, tags and templates according to Canada Post Corporation specifications. Ensures the integrity of the signage by contacting requester for clarification if needed and/or utilizing proper resources to ensure accuracy of request. Provides advice, when required, on the best way to fulfill their signage requirements.
  • Produces accurate and up to date Sortation lists. Produce directory of streets for use by clerks.
  • Working knowledge of various corporate menu driven systems as well as various corporate software packages. Ability to create letters, reports, spreadsheets, charts and presentation material.
  • Compile and process readily available information following preestablished guidelines in order to create lists, signs, labels and maps. Prepares and distributes various daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Responsibility to maintain accurate records, assemble, analyze and compile information, statistics and reports; audits all documents to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Identifies and/or amends any anomalies and ensures corrective actions are undertaken.

Job Responsibilities (continued):

  • Participates in development, planning and implementation of visual information pertaining to special projects such as Occupational Health and Safety etc.
  • Communicates with employees and management in the exchange of information and in providing advice, guidance with matters pertaining to the creation of new lists, signs and/or labels.
  • Orders and maintains supplies required for the preparation of signs, tags, labels and posters. If there are special requirements, obtain the proper authorization before ordering the supplies.
  • Establishes, monitors and maintains the signage filing system. Creates memos and information book notices relating to signage changes.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or equivalent (GED) is required

  • No previous work experience is required.

Temporary position (approximately 3 months) with the possibility of extension.
