Group Summary

Cosma provides a comprehensive range of body, chassis and engineering solutions to global customers. Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.

The Area Leader is responsible to support the Team Members in the performance of their duties focusing on safety, people, quality, productivity and all company/regulatory policies and procedures

Your Responsibilities


• Leads and schedules the activities of team members

• Develops Team Members through coaching and mentoring

• Promotes principles of PIC and SPQP

• Facilitates daily shift meetings and communicates team talks

• Establishes and maintains effective communications with all Departments

• Participates in manpower planning and recruiting

• Promotes accountability by providing formal and informal performance feedback to Team Members which includes Performance Appraisals

• Monitors, tracks and improves upon key indicators.

• Provides training to new and transferring Team Members as per the training matrix including cross training to maximize flexibility supporting SPQP

• Leads Team Members in accordance with the principles of the Magna Employee's Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Company Handbook and Company Credo

• Manages departmental labour, maximizing resources to meet established objectives in accordance with an approved manpower plan

• Plans and directs the efficient utilization of all equipment and manpower

• Knows and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function

• Adheres to Modatek's Core Values: Integrity, Respect, Trust, Honesty, Fairness and Loyalty

• Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as Outlined in the Team Member Handbook, Quality and Environmental Programs (i.e. TS16949, ISO14001)

• Understands, promotes and lives by Magna's philosophies and the Employee's Charter

• Performs other duties as required

Who we are looking for


• Minimum four (4) years leadership experience in manufacturing environment, preferably automotive

• Minimum two years Modatek Team Leader experience

• Effective verbal and written communication

• Strong organizational and leadership skills

• Proficient in computer use

• Ability to uphold confidentiality

• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
