JOB SUMMARY:

THE PARK Restaurant is hiring a line cook for our small but busy kitchen.


We are looking for an energetic, hardworking individual with superior attention to detail, a consistently positive demeanor, and experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Our kitchen offers a respectful, clean, and professional work environment with continuous growth opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and effectively. Keep track of kitchen inventory and promote food safety.

Maintain cleanliness and order, serve as a liaison officer between the kitchen and Servers, and ensure their workplace is compliant with local safety standards.

Other duties and responsibilities that Cooks need to excel at include:

  • Taking orders from the wait staff and preparing food according to customer preference
  • Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and order
  • Monitoring and managing cooking tools and ingredients
  • Adjusting to accommodate clients with specific diet and health concerns.
  • Setting up the workstation
  • Assist with opening or closing the kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent line and prep skills
  • A minimum of 1 year line cooking experience
  • Must be available to work mornings and evenings, including weekends.
  • A team mentality and a positive, resultsdriven attitude
  • Ability to follow directions and to comply with given standards, as well as proven experience in a busy kitchen
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada. No sponsorship is available

Salary:
$18.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Comox, BC V9M 3Z2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
