As a Project Manager, your role involves evaluating and estimating costs for property damage remediation caused by fire, smoke, water, wind, etc.

You will work closely with property owners, insurance, and construction representatives to assess and allocate the team for a safe cleanup process, ensuring properties are restored to their pre-disaster condition.

Your analytical abilities, experience, and capacity to engage with people in various situations will guarantee success in assisting individuals and their families in returning to their previous quality of life.

Operating from Regina, the work territory covers southern Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities:

1.0 Emergency service assessment:

  • Conduct site inspections with property owners, assess property damage, and identify the cause of loss. Manage and outline emergency and restoration processes to ensure compliance with Emergency and Sask Building Code standards
  • Collaborate with property owners to discuss damages and next steps, offering professional and supportive assistance throughout the restoration process.
  • Estimate costs for emergency services and restoration in collaboration with the Estimator and/or shared services. Develop and manage project budgets, obtain insurance firm approval, determine deductibles, and payment timelines. Secure client/property owner authorization before project commencement.

2.0 Project Planning

  • Consult subcontractors and engineers to guarantee adherence to codes, regulations, and ordinances. Manage qualified subtrades, ensuring clear instructions and coordination of work.
  • Secure building permits where necessary. Schedule Building Department Inspections and maintain reports and directives.

3.0 Implementation and Restoration

  • Conduct site inspections before, during, and after project completion to ensure compliance with approved estimates. Manage project budget, invoicing, and receivables. Analyze project profitability and report on various aspects of the projects.
  • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, including homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, etc., throughout emergency and restoration projects.
  • Supervise project assistants, team leads, staff, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion. Address change requests and unforeseen work efficiently. Properly document any changes to the original estimate.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and reporting. Provide weekly claim status reports to the Project Management Team.

4.0 Project Windup

  • Facilitate inspections upon project completion. Ensure project documents are up-to-date and complete. Secure and file the Certificate of Completion.

Roughly 50% fieldwork, 50% office work. A valid driver's license is required.

If selected, you should possess:

Education:

Ideal qualifications include certification in water remediation, fire restoration, among others. A blend of education and experience is accepted, with in-house training provided.

Experience:

2+ years in Project Management or Supervisory roles, preferably in restoration or construction. Safety training is advantageous.

Knowledge of the Canadian Restoration Industry is beneficial.

Computer

Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with estimating and project reporting software is a plus.

Desired attributes:

Service-oriented, enthusiastic, and motivated to assist individuals and families through the restoration process. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential to work effectively with clients.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Committed to high safety standards in line with company policies and regulations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing detailed technical reports.

Work Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30 with occasional overtime. On-call position requiring flexibility.
