Part-time Caretaker for Residential Strata

Hours of work:
Total 24 hours per week

  • Sat and Sun: 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
  • Mon and Tues: 8:00am 2:00 p.m.
  • Oncall for responding to emergency calls (Friday 5:00 p.m. until Monday 8:00 a.m.)

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • regular patrolling and keeping main entrances, parkade, locker rooms, and all common interior and exterior perimeter grounds tidy
- regular garbage rooms/chutes checkups and cleaning
- regular recycle bins check-ups and cleaning
- basic pool/recreation center maintenance and operation
- general basic maintenance and repairs: lights replacement; door locks replacement; small painting projects; small drywall repairs; light pressure washing; occasional snow removal,
- assisting move in and outs
- assisting and liaison with trades and government authorities and agents
- ensuring all security measures are in place
- reporting any common property issues or residents' complaints in a timely matter

Qualifications:

  • Some experience with building maintenance is preferred.
  • Pool operation certificate or experience would be an advantage.

Skills:

  • Good communication and social skills; basic handyman skills; basic computer knowledge.
  • Some mechanical systems knowledge would be a plus.
The position requires regular communication with the full-time Facility Manager and Strata Manager.

Note:
The job involves carrying a business phone and handling after-hours, weekend, and holidays emergency calls.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 24 per week

Salary:
$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Every Weekend

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC V5Z 4L2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
