About the facility: The Public Health Program is located at the Jeannie Bird Clinic in La Ronge. However, this position will be required to travel to outlying LLRIB communities to provide public health programming to clients.
About the position: The Public Nurse will use his/her assessment and nursing skills to effectively assist the clients to maintain an optimal level of health; Utilize Assessment, educating, & nursing skills to carry out Public Health Nursing programming; in the publicly funded Saskatchewan Immunization Program, Pre & Postnatal care, Communicable Disease Control & Tuberculosis programming; Provide direct care by assessing client health needs, planning care, implementing interventions & evaluating outcomes; Promote healthy lifestyles, & health promotion; Assess needs of Band Members & make necessary referrals; Act as a client advocate & a liaison between LLRIBHS & other agencies.

Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have a minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; Must be in good standing and registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS); Previous Public Health and/or Acute Care experience is an asset. Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Ability to speak/or understand Cree a definite asset; Ability to work as a team member. Ability to travel to Outlying Communities. Must have a valid Driver's License.
