Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Jeannie Bird Clinic in La Ronge. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients and promoting healthy lifestyles in our community.

About the Role
  • Assess and address the health needs of clients, providing education and support to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health programs in schools and community settings.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and community members to identify and address health concerns.
  • Provide pre and postnatal care, as well as communicable disease control and tuberculosis programming.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and health promotion through education and community outreach.
  • Act as a client advocate and liaison between our organization and other agencies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
  • Previous Public Health and/or Acute Care experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset.
  • Ability to speak or understand Cree is a definite asset.
  • Ability to work as a team member and travel to outlying communities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
