Job Description
  • Specialized training in the Repair, Installation and Troubleshooting of Homag CNC machines: BMG and Weeke and other numerically controlled industrial Homag Edge Banders and Saws.
  • Trained in 5 axis technology.
  • WoodWop programming is an asset.
  • Able to evaluate, prepare and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshooting/repairing/installing of wood processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
  • Be able to resolve electrical problems logically, demonstrate machine flow
  • Must have working knowledge of PLC, VFD, CNC and servo systems
  • Knowledge of LOTO protocol a must
  • Plan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction
  • Assist the production lines with changeovers and set ups
  • Must own a full complement of proper tools to perform tasks
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data
  • Assess parts needed to repair equipment, create purchase requests
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to take the initiative to solve problems, where appropriate
  • Must be willing to cross-train in various areas of the department as required
  • Follow all MillerKnoll safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Participate and maintain 5S in the workplace
  • Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends
  • Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process

Education Requirement
  • Completion of a three-year College Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Welding
  • Knowledge of PLC, VFD, CNC and servo systems
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both oral and written)

Experience requirement
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years of related experience
  • Machine shop experience
  • Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset
