At Energy, Mines and Resources, we are committed to a healthy and sustainable resource sector, managed in partnership with Yukoners. We embrace a work environment where problem solving, creativity, teamwork, risk management and personal effort result in the attainment of our goals and those of our clients.

Since the Gold Rush of 1898, mining has featured prominently in building and defining the Yukon's economy, shaping its communities, and contributing to its economic development. In the modern day context, Yukon Government controls and administers its natural resources, including its minerals. Working as a member of the Mining Recorder's team, the Mining Lands Officer is responsible for coordinating the mining land use application process; providing information, advice and assistance for the acquisition and security of mineral title to the mining community; and evaluating, processing and making recommendations for the acceptance or rejection of applications.
