Senior Product Marketing Manager

Sherbrooke, Canada Sherweb Inc. Full time

Here's how you will contribute to the success of the company:

We are looking for a seasoned PMM to drive Sherweb's top-line positioning & messaging, own our platform positioning and PLG motion, and drive the marketing strategy for our customer base. More specifically, the key missions will be to 1) help bring to market our centralized platform and to enable synergies between our family of products, 2) define and own the company-level positioning and messaging, and 3) ownership of our overall customer base including driving strategies to reduce churn and increase satisfaction. Part of the job will be to look at the overall narrative structure and positioning of our ecosystem, looking to drive multi-product usage / discovery and enable cross-sells.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish the business and platform level positioning and messaging.
  • Define and execute on GTM strategies and marketing plans relating to your core mandates in collaboration with Product, Sales and Marketing.
  • Collaborate with Sales and CX to define and implement strategies to reduce churn and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Translate product/platform specifications into benefits for users and vendors across multiple channels.
  • Build compelling briefs inspired by data and customer insights, clearly articulating business and marketing objectives, targets, key messages and measures of success.
  • Work with our internal agency to produce detailed marketing plans including advertising campaigns and analyze the results.
  • Create content to support the marketing plan.
  • Perform competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Work closely with the development, operations, sales and marketing and customer service teams to ensure the success of the platform in the market.
  • Other relevant projects, initiatives and tasks that typically fall under the mandate of product marketing as it relates to the 3 core areas of responsibility for this role defined above.

Expectations of an Senior Product Marketing Manager:

A Senior Product Marketing Manager is broadly expected to have general mastery over the core areas covered by the product marketing function, with higher overall expectations on the quality of output and work when compared to a PMM or Associate PMM. Here are the main differences and expectations:

  • Experience Level: Senior PMM's have more experience compared to PMMs with a larger base of experience with the core PMM jobs-to-be-done (more time-in-role, higher quality output).
  • Mentorship and best practices: A senior PMM is expected to act as a mentor to the team and bring best practices to the table to up-level the overall PMM team.
  • Responsibility Scope: Senior PMMs will own large strategic projects and initiatives with a balanced mix of strategic, operational and execution.
  • Decision-Making Authority: Senior PMMs generally have greater decision-making authority, leading strategy for their areas of responsibility.
  • Supervision: Senior PMM's are expected to work independently and lead projects with little-to-no supervision, high levels of independence, and minimal support needed. Senior PMM's are expected to manage relationships, manage up, and generate/leverage political influence to unblock their own projects and initiatives with less frequent need for escalations.

Here's what you need to have and master to get the job:

  • Required: 5 years of experience in Product Marketing within B2B tech or SaaS
  • Nice-to-have: Additional experience in GTM functions and people management experience
  • Flawless written communication in English is required
  • Familiarity and strong interest in IT audience and IT solution market.
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented, with a passion for digging into data to identify trends
  • Strategic mindset, ability to understand the 'big picture' and use creative problem solving to drive impact and results
  • Customer-centric mindset - your customer is at the center of everything you do
  • Ability to collaborate with many diverse stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to communicate the unique value proposition of a business or product to potential customers, partners and market influencers
  • Enthusiasm for a collaborative, entrepreneurial, fast-paced and results-oriented work environment
  • You know how to adapt to a constantly changing environment and like to bring new ideas.
  • You like technology and have an easy time understanding related concepts.
  • You are competitive and results oriented.
