The Team
Modular’s Hardware Engineering team is responsible for designing, building and deploying our specialized solutions to some of the most complex mining operations on the planet.  Working with partners around the world, you will help design and support the next generation of mine planning and optimization technology and build the infrastructure that will drive the changes in the mining industry for generations. You'll be tackling tough challenges that require innovative out-of-the-box thinking, dynamic, rigorous testing and the highest in quality and usability.

Job Purpose

At Modular, our vision is to revolutionize the way the mining industry operates in real time.  Our Field Technicians play a pivotal role in achieving this.  They provide expert, specialized domain knowledge and support to customers and cross departmental teams and are responsible for ensuring proper installation and maintenance of our systems and devices for our clients and customers around the world. From Product Development Field Tests and Commercial Installations, to Product Deployments and Performance Assurance visits, our Field Technicians ensure our products are installed to perform at their very best.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel between 40-60%.  This includes opportunities both domestically and internationally, with potential to travel on short notice as well.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As a Field Technician with Modular, you’ll be responsible for:

•    Working closely with Modular’s internal teams, you’ll identify opportunities that will improve our customer value and/or supportability
•    Collaborating with Project Managers, Software Developers and Performance Assurance Leads, you’ll implement on-site deployments, upgrades, and performance visits
•    Installation and auditing of hardware at client sites ensuring Modular’s highest standards of quality and functionality
•    Performing hardware diagnostics, isolating problems and repairing components
•    Documenting, updating and reviewing Modular’s hardware technical documentation, ensuring that all pertinent information is clearly defined and communicated easily

Required Skills

•    4 - 5 years’ experience installing electronic equipment on automotive, heavy equipment, aircraft, or assembly of electronic equipment in a contract or industrial manufacturing environment
•    Familiarity with manufacturing standards and procedures such as MIL-SPEC, IPC 620/610, or equivalent 
•    Strong written and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with clients and local teams
