About the role

We're looking for graduates from a range of degrees for different areas across our business. This requisition is for a role of Graduate Electrical Engineer based at Rio Tinto Kitimat, BC.

As the successful candidate, your role will include:

To be involve in project identification, research, design, development, planning & scheduling, execution, and reliability of rotating and fixed equipment while supporting the safe and reliable operation of all areas of our Kitimat site. This opportunity will allow you to develop skills around asset management, risk management, work management, and reliability to enable you to excel in your career.

What you'll bring

To be eligible for the Graduate program, you must have completed your studies within the last two years (2022, 2023) or working towards graduation in 2024.

• Bachelor or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
• Less than two years of relevant work experience (local and international)
• Right to work in Canada
• Valid driver's license
• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenges ahead
• Interest in working in a large complex industrial environment
• Safety mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and autonomy
• Enthusiasm to collaborate with different teams in unique environments

Rio Tinto BC Works is a part of the Atlantic Operations of the Aluminum product group. Rio Tinto has been operating in British Columbia for over 65 years.
