The job involves:

  • Supporting special projects, business and process improvement initiatives
  • Creating ad hoc financial reports
  • Assisting in treasury functions such as cash flow reporting, initiating transactions and foreign exchange accounting
  • Preparing account reconciliations and analysis as required
  • Maintaining General Ledger accounts and preparing/reviewing journal entries as required
  • Posting journal entries to the General Ledger accounts and preparing financial statements
  • Preparing monthly reports and compiling the quarterly Corporate reporting requirements
  • Analyzing different accounting treatment under IFRS vs US GAAP
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • College Diploma with a concentration in Accounting
  • Knowledge of commodity taxes, non-resident withholding taxes is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Workday, BirchStreet)
