About Us:
The Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services Branch provides wildland fire management services for the province including wildland fire management policies and strategies, fire prevention and detection, and the basic resources for managing wildland fires; aviation flight and maintenance crews and equipment in support of wildland fire and natural resources management, and other specialized aviation services, including non-scheduled air transport to all government ministries and agencies; and emergency management in response to wildland fires, floods, drought/low water, dam failures, erosion, soil and bedrock instability, crude oil and natural gas exploration, natural gas and hydrocarbon underground storage, and salt solution mining emergencies.

• You have a proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Forest Fires Prevention Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other regulations and guidelines.
• You have a demonstrated ability to function in a broad range of senior supervisory/technical positions in emergency situations.
Communication and Stakeholder Relationship Skills:• You have a proven ability to develop and manage partnerships and contracts to achieve program goals and objectives.
• You have excellent oral communication skills to provide instruction and direction to staff, to inform senior management of contentious issues, provide interpretation, advice, options, and recommendations, and to deliver presentations and training to diverse audiences.
• You have excellent written communication skills to respond to requests, prepare documents, reports, procedures, presentations and budgets using standard office software and tools.
• You have experience and have demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and political acuity in interpreting legislation/regulations in response to inquiries from the public, delegates from remote northern communities, clients, and numerous internal/external partners/stakeholders.
