About this opportunity:

This role is accountable to lead a team of specialists supporting CTCHO functional teams by managing the implementation of COIMS best practices and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives that drive value across the business unit.

  • Lead a team composed of CI Engineers and Operations Specialists

  • Ensure adequate people, processes and tools are in place to implement all COIMS best practices across CTCHO

  • Lead the assurance and verification of the performance of COIMS activities

  • Liaise with the Cenovus corporate COIMS Team

  • Manage the development and maintenance of operating systems that will support continuous improvement of CTCHO business performance

Work Environment:

This is a full-time employee position based in our downtown Calgary office.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a framework that supports ownership and implementation of best practices for all COIMS elements across CTCHO assets and functions

  • Ensure specialist support for the development of CTCHO management plans, work processes and tools that may be required to implement COIMS best practices in a fit for purpose manner

  • Manage the reporting of verification reviews of COIMS operational activities across CTCHO

  • Manage the planning, execution and resolution of LOD2 assurance reviews on COIMS elements

  • Manage and report on the execution progress of COIMS gap closure activities

  • Liaison with corporate COIMS Team to ensure CTCHO systems conform to COIMS Standards and to access specialized technical support for complex issues

  • Lead the identification, development, implementation and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives that will improve business performance, in partnership with CTCHO Functional Leaders

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across assets and functional teams that will improve consistency and performance

Who you are:

  • Degree in Engineering or Business

  • 10+ years experience as a leader, preferably overseeing business excellence roles

  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement principles and operating management systems

  • Demonstrated success in change management and organization transformation (i.e., metrics development/ implementation, training development/delivery, etc.) and ability to diagnose barriers to project success and facilitate resolution is a strong plus

  • 15+ years of practical experience with process improvement or operations excellence in manufacturing, production, processing, or refining facilities

  • An entrepreneurial leader who can partner with other business leads to identify and evaluate opportunities to drive business excellence

  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to oversee the creation of governing documentation

  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience presenting complex business information to both practitioners and leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to develop trust and strong working relationships with people in front line leadership, execution and senior leadership roles

  • Ability to adapt complex concepts and systems into fit-for-purpose tools and solutions that support the accountabilities of the business unit and needs of front-line users
