This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Mineral Resources Branch regulates exploration and mining activity with the goal of encouraging responsible development and a sustainable industry in Yukon. As a member of the Mineral Resources team, reporting to the Strategic Policy Advisor, this position is responsible for research, analysis, evaluation and advice related to the development and monitoring of mineral policy, procedures, legislation and regulations in the Yukon and provision of policy on mineral management and development issues for department managers and staff.

Essential Qualifications

- Diploma, degree or certificate in natural resource management, public administration, or a related field;
- Experience completing research and analysis in order to produce papers, policies and reports;
- Experience analyzing policy issues and providing recommendations and policy actions;
- Experience in policy development and legislative processes, preferably in a government setting;
- Experience working with the Yukon mining regulatory and assessment processes and the requirements under the Yukon Umbrella Final Agreement and Yukon First Nation Agreements would be an asset.
Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
