Detailed Overview
Reporting to the Coordinator, Access & Bed Utilization, the Bed Booking Clerk maintains bed utilization information; identifies and allocates patient bed assignment of acute care patients; liaises with physicians and appropriate staff; verifies bed availability; performs data entry for discharge/transfer requests; obtains admission information as required.

Education and Experience
Grade 12 and three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively with others. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
