Reporting directly to the Arena Operations Supervisor, the successful candidates will work with other staff to ensure the safe, clean, effective & efficient operation of the NAIT arena and other recreation facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of the arena space & adjacent areas/facilitiesZamboni & ice edger operation & minor maintenanceRegular daily maintenance of the ice surface & rink board systemKeeping daily logs on equipment & operationGeneral cleaning of the arena & adjacent areas/facilitiesAssisting in the setup or takedown of scheduled events in all the recreation facilities.Compliance with opening/ closing policies

Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of arena operations & maintenance methods, techniques and practicesWorking knowledge of Zamboni / ice edger operation & maintenanceCustomer service skillsAbility to lift & move heavy itemsProblem solving skills


Qualifications:

Grade 12 diploma1 year of experience in arena operationsValid class 5 driver’s licenseExperience driving a Zamboni is an assetValid first aid & CPR certificates


Remuneration: $23.20 - $29.02 per hour plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay.

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
