As a Data Science Co-op/Intern, you will take on stimulating projects that offer opportunities to learn and grow as part of a multidisciplinary team with a mandate to develop and roll out innovative products. As an Intern or Co-op student joining our innovation lab, youâll be surrounded by a diverse team of experts who are transforming the insurance experience for millions of Canadians. Think machine learning, data science, AI, geomatics, climate and agility â itâs all in a dayâs work at Intact Lab.â¯Â 

What youâll do here: 

  • Transform complex data sets into meaningful insights, conclusions and recommendationsâ¯Â 

  • Participate in developing completely new and innovative solutions, using machine learning, AI and statistical approachesâ¯Â 

  • Get experience working with different types of data including geospatial, telematics, text data and image dataâ¯Â 

  • Be on the lookout for new approaches and opportunities to integrate them into the solutions you designâ¯Â 

What you bring to the table: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD, in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, Earth sciences, mathematics, statistics or a related fieldâ¯Â 

  • Available to work with us 35 hours per week for Winter 2025 (January 6 to April 25)â¯â¯â¯Â 

  • Available to work from the office 2 days a week (and 3 from home)â¯Â 

  • Must be returning to school in Summer or Fall 2025 following your internshipâ¯â¯â¯Â 

  • Practical experience in data science, machine Learning or deep learningâ¯â¯Â 

  • Practical experience with Python programming languagesâ¯Â 

  • Knowledge of computer vision or natural language processing (NLP) (an asset)â¯Â 

  • Understanding of data science approaches in financial services (an asset)â¯Â 

  • Bilingualism is ESSENTIAL (French and English) * Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking clients and colleagues across the country
