About the Role

The Field Supervisor role for our Barrie Field Operations is best suited to someone with a hands-on approach to leadership. As a Field Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of managing day-to-day operations, requiring a blend of technical know-how and effective communication skills.

Your primary responsibilities will revolve around overseeing and coordinating biosolids spreading programs for our northern operations. The key responsibilities include planning and executing operational strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising and supporting the Tractor Operators and Field Operators, maintaining safety protocols, and facilitating effective communication with stakeholders.

This role offers a dynamic work environment, with a significant portion of your time spent outdoors actively engaging in field operations alongside your team. There is a seasonal aspect to our field operations, so flexibility in work hours is often necessary. This may include extended hours during peak operational periods or when addressing unexpected challenges.

If you thrive in hands-on roles and are eager to take on leadership responsibilities, this is an opportunity to leverage your skills and make a tangible impact on operational efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.

About You
  • 1-3 years supervisory or managerial experience;
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to lead effectively and coordinate team members;
  • Familiarity with agricultural equipment and dragline systems is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills to engage and facilitate effective information flow between team members, stakeholders, and management. The ability to communicate clearly and assertively is crucial.
  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions in real-time.
  • A commitment to safety awareness and the ability to enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for the team;
  • AZ/DZ license is considered an asset;
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions, weather, and unexpected challenges.

Why Work for Us

We offer the opportunity to make a difference with the work you do, and to work in a friendly, family owned and operated company that practices its values: Responsibility, Respect, Balance and Joy.

Wessuc is one of Ontario's leading resources for municipal, industrial and agricultural wastewater infrastructure and processes, with a focus on turning waste into value. We take pride in our commitment to safety and our use of innovative waste solution technologies.

  • Company phone, laptop and vehicle,
  • Comprehensive benefits plan with health, dental, vision and life insurance;
  • $150 boot allowance after one year of service;
  • Company matching RRSP-DPSP program;
  • Paid on-the-job training.

Wessuc encourages all enthusiastic qualified candidates to apply. If you require accommodation in the recruitment process please let us know by using the “Help” function in the application, or contacting our Human Resources team at hr@wessuc.com.
