Canada Hoot Reading For All Full time

Position : Full-time & Flexible
Location : Remote Within Canada(Headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Reports to : Head of Marketing
Salary : $50-60K CAD

Hoot Reading is the leading online tutoring service providing 1:1, evidence-based literacy instruction with qualified teachers, at scale. Incubated on a research project at the Nokia Research Lab with Sesame Workshop (the creators of Sesame Street) and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, Hoot Reading partners with K-12 school districts, educational partners and families across North America to change children’s lives through literacy.

As the Events & Social Media Specialist, you will work alongside other members of our growth & marketing team to contribute to business development and expansion. You will be responsible for researching, coordinating, and executing all Hoot events - for brand awareness, increasing sales, strengthening current partnerships, and driving internal employee engagement. You will be also be responsible for the daily operations of our social media channels, as well as content calendar planning and reporting. We are looking for a creative self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What's On Your Plate:

  • Research and coordinate event sponsorship and attendance options and agreements
  • Provide the planning and execution of external event sponsorships/attendance and Hoot hosted events
  • Organize and execute events for the internal team to increase employee engagement and create collaborative team experiences
  • Manage our branded orders and shipments for employees, partners, and giveaways
  • Communicate with partners to plan and execute on-site events to increase brand awareness and program use
  • Execution of virtual events (such as webinars)
  • Provide reporting on events and detailed budget tracking
  • Plan and execute a content calendar for our social media channels
  • Monitor, moderate, and engage with social media followers
  • Provide reporting and key insights to manager to optimize platforms and performance
  • Support the marketing team with daily administrative tasks and various marketing and branding initiatives

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a post secondary-degree or diploma in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of work experience coordinating events
  • Is comfortable working a trade show booth and communicating publicly about the brand
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience (especially with Canva) considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace
  • The ability to be independently motivated in a remote work environment
