Digital Marketing & Experience Full Time Canada
Integrated Media (within Marketing & Digital Growth division)

The Social Media Specialist role at Compassion Canada is central to our digital marketing efforts, focusing on enhancing our online presence and driving social media strategy. The key objective of this position is to develop, produce, and manage social media initiatives that align with our organization's overarching goals and values.
The Social Media Specialist works alongside members of the Marketing & Digital Growth division and reports to the Director of Digital Marketing & Experience.
Compassion Canada is a Christian organization, committed to being child-focused, Christ-centered, and church driven. Plan, curate, and create a diverse selection of content across all Compassion Canada’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
Schedule and manage all outbound content using Sprout Social for Compassion Canada’s social channels.
Facilitate a positive user experience and prioritize engagement to expand brand awareness and engagement on Compassion Canada’s social media platforms.

Maintain and enhance relationships with influencers, content creators, and various agency partners, identifying new collaboration opportunities.
Adhere to and dynamically adjust strategies based on Compassion Canada’s social media metrics and full-funnel measurement, using agility and creativity.
Assist with ongoing data collection and analytics reporting to inform strategy adjustments improvements.
Produce social media content at in-person events, primarily in the Greater Toronto Area.
Engage in active testing of new social media channels and products to reach both existing and new audiences.
Work alongside the social media listening team and support specific off-hours social media monitoring.
Proactively support national, channel-specific, and community engagement campaigns.
Bring creative, intuitive, and experimental energy to both workload and work environments.
Perform other duties as requested to support Compassion Canada’s goals.
Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and any other platforms used by Compassion Canada, which may vary over time.
Proficiency in widely used content creation and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Figma, Canva, Final Cut Pro, and Lightroom, along with experience in social media management platforms like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Buffer.
A strong interest in staying updated with social media trends, including in-app changes.
Proven ability to create content in various formats, including videos, copywriting, Stories, and live sessions.
Responsive and intuitive understanding of social media trends.
Minimum of one year of experience in curating, creating, and managing content for large, established brands with significant fundraising and engagement responsibilities.
Post secondary education in communications, digital marketing or other relevant field.
