We are looking for a Product and Functional Safety Specialist to help us craft the future. The role can be placed at any location globally.

This specialist is a recognized expert in the field of product and functional safety, working with a high level of autonomy, conducting tasks based on their highly unique knowledge and skills. The nature of the tasks is specialized and sophisticated. You will be responsible to advise the business including high level decision makers. You will control and organize work tasks and responsibilities as appropriate. You will not simply complete tasks but decide how to do the work with very little supervision.

As a Product and Functional Safety Specialist you are a consultant in all safety related subjects. You balance business needs without compromising on the safety of our products.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You function as interface partner and act as mediator between the technical fields to ensure the development and project execution of safe products.
  • You participate in internal / external working groups and committees to actively shape the landscape of standards and regulations for product and functional safety.
  • You act as face to the customer representing the Siemens Energy philosophy on safety and product compliance.
  • You support a wide range of organizations such as R&D, New Unit Builds and Service in all questions revolving around safety – from task force assistance to process consulting.
  • You have global technical responsibility for your discipline e. g. participation in gate decisions, project reviews, and/or audits.
  • You review & consult Component / Technology Owners in maintaining Procedures and an effective product safety system.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Product and Functional Safety with in-depth

expertise of Standards and Regulations in the field of Safety.

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Science
  • Functional safety Expert Certification e.g. CFSE
  • You have strong proficiency in risk evaluation and risk management methods.
  • You bring wide-ranging knowledge in adjacent fields to Functional and Product Safety, such.

  • You are the go-to person as technical advisor.
  • You have a willingness and an excellent ability to collaborate across teams to develop.
