An exceptional opportunity awaits a seasoned sales professional with experience in the event and exhibitions sectors. This role offers the chance to join a global organiser producing world-class events, based in the vibrant city of Calgary, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for both the retention and growth of assigned accounts, as well as generating revenue from new business. This includes closing deals across the energy value-chain.

What you'll do:

  • Consultatively sell effective event, advertising and sponsorship solutions to new and existing clients
  • Solicit new clients to exhibit and sponsor in assigned trade show(s) within a defined and protected territory
  • Make cold calls and have at least 30 conversations with clients daily
  • Research potential new clients and prospects using various resources for business development
  • Actively participate in regular weekly sales meetings and host one meeting a month
  • Weekly reporting of all sales activity, pipeline and forecasts with accurate reporting to the Commercial Sales Director
  • Promote and actively cross-sell into events within the portfolio
  • Create strong relationships through having face-to-face meetings with existing clients in order to identify future opportunities

What you bring:

  • Proven experience working in exhibition, sponsorship or media sales is a strong asset
  • 2-4 years experience in B2B conference and exhibition sponsorship sales, working in either a domestic or global market
  • Strong sales skill set including lead generation, cold calling, working with CRM systems, cultivating sponsorship and exhibition proposals
  • Experience working in the energy market in sales or on the client side would be a bonus but not essential
  • Previous responsibility for ambitious sales targets
  • The ability to consistently meet and exceed targets
