Position Profile

The key areas of responsibility for this role include providing support in budgeting, forecasting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial analysis, payroll, and all other general financial activities to ensure effective and efficient financial processes at a GTA private health care service provider. (the ‘company “ )

This role brings a deep understanding of accounting best practice, strong capability around the delivery of high calibre services to the company’s operations, and a passion for supporting and enabling the organization’s people objectives from a financial services and accounting perspective.

In collaboration with the senior leadership team, identify and/or confirm work organizational goals and objectives and support the company’s vision through values-driven leadership to achieve success in terms of quality service, organizational sustainability and growth.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

(a) Support and supervise accounting processes and activities as assigned including payroll, billing, payables and receivables.

(b) Support Head Office & Regional Leaders in the preparation of departmental and consolidated budgets;

(c) Prepare, monitor and forecast all key financial metrics to ensure THE COMPANAY ’s sustainability and success;

(d) Conduct day-to-day finance/accounting operations including accuracy of the General Ledger, AP/AR functions, month-end closing entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations;

(e) Support Regional Leaders in the preparation of internal financial reports and analyze variances to budget;

(f) Prepare periodic and year-end financial reports as required;

(g) Gather supporting data and documentation to assist external resources in the preparation of year-end financial statements and at as liaison with external auditors during annual audit;

(h) Develop business partner relationships with Regional Leaders and Head Office;

(i) Collaborate and support Regional Leaders with all financial activities to ensure their business success;

(j) Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, contracts, and external regulatory requirements;

(k) Design, build, implement and monitor processes to optimize financial operations and internal controls;

(l) Establish processes to monitor, assess, and respond to issues that affect finance & accounting;

(m) Continuously focus on quality & efficiency improvement activities via:

(i) Productivity & quality metrics analysis and planning;

(ii) Operations standardisation, monitoring, & optimisation;

(iii) Implementing compliance recommendations;

(iv) Operations & budget planning;

(v) Best practice research; and

(vi) Optimization of staff satisfaction through improved operations.

(n) Support senior management as requested.

Knowledge and Skill

(a) Knowledge of current finance & accounting methodologies.

(b) Strong interpersonal skills to develop, maintain relations, both internal and external, and to contribute to a supportive work environment.

(c) Strong financial project management, business acumen with the ability to influence;

(d) Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication including the ability to develop, analyse and present reports.;

(e) Planning skills, strong organizational skills and works independently;

(f) Extreme attention to detail, accuracy, & precision;

(g) Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while being able to respond to priorities;

(h) Proven management skills and demonstrated accomplishments in financial project management;

(i) Highly accountable, results & strategy focused, ability to evaluate results;

(j) Experience working in a data-driven environment with the ability to track and understand key metrics.

Position Requirements

(a) University degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required, or working toward to a relevant professional designation, such as CPA;

(b) Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software/QuickBooks/Sage300

(c) MUST have advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, and others such as INDEX, MATCH, SUMIF, as well as proficiency in conditional formatting and data validation.

(d) Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounting and reporting experience, preferably in a fast paced, high-volume environment and within the health care service industry.

(e) Work experience within a nationally distributed work force preferred.

(f) Clear Background Reference Check.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
