Job Description: Maintains an up-to-date listing of school buses and assigned drivers Assures ready access to an up-to-date route sheet for each scheduled route Maintains an accurate daily attendance roster of drivers Maintains cordial working relationships with assigned drivers Operate two-way radio base station Ability to work in a high-pressure environment Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of roads and streets in Toronto and the surrounding area Communicate with parents, supervisors, school administrators and department employees ; receive requests, questions, concerns and suggestions and provide information and assistance to appropriate personnel Other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills: Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalency Post secondary education preferred 3 years school bus dispatch experience preferred Highly organized with a strong attention to detail Previous dispatch experience considered an asset Ability to prioritize work in a fast, flexible, multi task environment with minimal supervision Exceptional problem solving skills Telephone and two-way radio techniques and etiquette Speak clearly and distinctly Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy Creative, quick learner who will bring innovative thinking Well-spoken and comfortable working with all levels of the organization Energized, positive attitude and a team player Work cooperatively with others Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action Excellent knowledge of all MS Office programs Previous experience in the school bus industry is considered an asset Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with school bus endorsement; must have or be willing to obtain within six months, or equivalent work experience While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
