CNA’s School of Health Sciences offers a comprehensive array of programs developed in collaboration with local industry and national professional associations ensuring graduates are prepared at the highest level, thereby uniquely positioning graduates for a career in health care. Clinical support by health authorities and other clinical agencies provides students with state-of-the-art clinical experiences and education. Modern laboratory and classroom facilities coupled with exemplary classroom and clinical faculty offers students an opportunity to excel in their program of study.


Reporting to the Vice President of Academics, the Dean is a senior academic leader functionally accountable for the provision of quality educational programs and services within the School of Health Sciences.
Academic leadership at the school level extends to strategic planning; curriculum development, accreditation, quality assurance, and ongoing program review; applied research; resource planning, management, and reporting; contract training activities; Accountable for the design, development, evaluation, quality, and relevance of all academic programs and services associated with the School of Health Sciences to address labour market needs as well as emerging trends and opportunities.
The Dean is a key member of the College's senior management team and works collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to carry out the mission of the College.
Leads the development of strategic relationships with industry, community groups, various professional associations, educational partners, municipalities, and non-profit organizations to advance the School of Health Sciences’ mandate and increase student and faculty opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant allied health discipline.
Master’s Degree in Post-Secondary Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
Extensive academic experience within a post-secondary education environment, with a particular focus on the development, delivery, evaluation, and accreditation of health sciences programs; Understanding of program planning, development, and delivery.
Knowledge of pedagogical principles and educational technology advancements relative to the School of Health Sciences.
Ability to analyze, synthesize, and apply large volumes of complex documentation to ensure programs/services within the School of Health Sciences are of the highest quality in terms of curriculum, industry standards, government requirements, accreditation, and certification requirements.
Ability to cultivate strong partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including academic, business, industry, and alumni partners.
Ability to collaborative decision-making with a commitment to academic excellence and a demonstrated ability to articulate a vision and strategy for developing experiential, student-centered programming.
