(Permanent Position)

**DUTIES**
The successful applicant will perform skilled work in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of both low/high pressure steam heating plant equipment and machinery within the Health Sciences Centre and other associated buildings. Duties will include the operation and maintenance of heating boilers, HVAC equipment, exchangers, chilled water systems, and other associated equipment; annual inspection of boilers, compressors, pumps, chillers, and evaporators; checking on the operation of electrical and mechanical equipment; making necessary adjustments and repairs to equipment; maintaining correct pressures and temperatures in equipment; maintaining a log book; cleaning boilers and hot water heating tanks; responding to maintenance trouble calls; inputting work orders; and performing other related duties as required. This position will be on the regular daily maintenance schedule but may be required to do intermittent shift work under extenuating circumstances.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
Experience (1-3 years) in power engineering, supplemented by experience (1-3 years) in maintenance, heating, and repair services in a large building complex; graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Possession of a valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate and a valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, are required.

**SALARY** $29.97 - $34.82 per hour (NAPE Local 7801)

Plus market differential of $2.00 per hour
