Instructor, Pre-employment Pipe Trades & Apprenticeship Programs

The School of Construction is seeking 3 full-time temporary Instructors for our Pipe Trades Apprenticeship & Pre-Employment Pipetrades programs.
As an instructor, you will create a supportive and innovative learning environment, utilizing existing curriculum resources and a variety of instructional techniques to promote learning and personal development. In addition to creating teaching and learning plans, course maps, and assessments, you will provide ongoing support and guidance to learners, evaluate student progress and achievement, and participate in promotional activities such as SAIT’s Open House.
*These are temporary salaried positions eligible for benefits with the potential to become long term in the future. 
Prepare and present lesson plans, lectures, course materials, assignments, and learning activities in support of learning objectives
~ Educate students utilizing existing curriculum resources and utilize a variety of instructional techniques to promote learning and personal development
~ Maintain and develop relationships with academic colleagues and industry partners

Minimum Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in one of Plumber, Steam Fitting/Pipefitting or Gasfitting trades.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson in a variety of installation and service environments is desired
Prior teaching or training experience in adult education is an asset
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and presentation software
