Reporting to the National Safety Manager, this is an important role in which you will be contribute to the development of line management and supervisor health & safety capability including the concept of visible felt leadership and ensuring safety and health systems and processes are understood and implemented effectively by the line. You will support strategic plan initiatives at an operational level and provide a consultancy, coaching and support service to managers and supervisors on safety and health matters.
Facilitating and modelling a safety leadership style that demonstrates our priority for health and safety and underpins our drive to zero Harm.
Maintaining a working knowledge of relevant safety and health legislation, trends and new initiatives impacting on the business.
Undertaking site audits, as scheduled by the compliance, investigation and reporting function, against Holcim Australia safety systems and other appropriate standards.
Monitoring, measuring, tracking and reporting on and closing out of corrective actions from risk assessments, investigations and audits.
Identification of opportunities to simplify safety systems and processes without compromising our zeroHarm goal.
Assisting and supporting line management with safety incident investigations, including the determination and tracking of correct and preventative measures.
Assisting and supporting line management in identifying, assessing, controlling and reviewing health and safety hazards.
Previous experience in a safety leadership role within high risk environments e.g. quarrying, mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial manufacturing or related sectors is preferred
Relevant experience in conducting safety inspections, audit, leading incident investigations and reporting safety related matters.
Familiarity with the use of Health & Safety record keeping systems.
