Toronto ON, Canada Auxly Cannabis Group Inc. Full time

Based out of Toronto, ON, Auxly Cannabis is currently looking for an ambitious and versatile Creative Lead to join our Commercial team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Marketing & Innovation, the ideal candidate aspires to work in the growing cannabis industry with an award-winning portfolio of brands The successful candidate will be responsible for translating creative briefs into effective brand specific visual communications across all channels. The role will work from our downtown Toronto office three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday) with remote work two days per week.

  • Act as the creative visionary for our portfolio of cannabis brands. Translate product and marketing messages into visual storytelling across all major channels: instore visibility, digital marketing, events, customer promotions, product packaging, and more. Develop creative strategies, conceptualize big ideas, and contribute to processes that push our brands forward in their evolution and clarity.
  • Execute the production and preparation of design files, extending concepts to several tactical channels, specifications, and adaptations. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fastpaced environment. Work closely with Marketing teams to understand evolving plans and project pivots. Demonstrate outstanding aesthetic sensibilities and possess a solid understanding of trends, retail customer journeys, and layout and design principles.
  • Work closely with Shopper Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to develop impactful instore assets, including brand equity tools, displays, and other promotional assets that leave a lasting impression. Create concepts that delight the consumer while managing regulatory limitations.
  • Develop educational materials for internal teams and B2B industry audiences. Work with Product team to understand detailed information and specifications, translating into deeper technical overviews and other educational content. Support all material development for product knowledge sessions.
  • Lead a brand identity refresh for all core recreational brands. Update brand standards and guidelines to reflect updated identity. Maintain consistency of standards across new campaigns while allowing for visual freedom within brands.
  • Redesign brand websites and social pages, working with Marketing team to understand the objectives of each channel. Work with internal and external teams to stand up new digital ecosystem for Auxly brands. Manage website builds, contribute copywriting and illustration, and lead social channel content and email marketing execution.
  • Provide strategic guidance on innovation projects, offering creative perspective on product and packaging design, copy tone and style, and new format positioning.
  • Lead creative content development for new products, including photography and product renders. Work with 3 rd party vendors or freelancers to develop a deep catalog of assets for launch.
  • Contribute to our team culture and foster an environment where creativity thrives, where passion for cannabis fuels our collective imagination.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in a senior creative management capacity. 10+ years of design experience (in-house or agency) in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and XD. Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Squarespace.
  • Extensive knowledge of all steps required for the print process and an understanding of production methods to ensure designs can be produced for print delivery.
  • Experience working with implementing brand guidelines and delivering on brand strategy.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a positive manner.
  • Deep understanding of recreational cannabis regulations and proven ability to deliver compliant marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders. Ability to problem solve with crossfunctional colleagues.
