The Director, Group Retirement Services (GRS) Member Strategy & Experience will support and collaborate with the AVP, GRS Member Strategy & Experience in maintaining an overarching view of the business context and recommending strategies that will ensure Sun Life members achieve financial security while growing the profitability of the business.



Understand the Group Retirement Services (GRS) member business model and operating context to question the status quo.
Gather clues and information that will help the strategy team formulate strategic hypotheses to drive growth and member outcomes.
Analyze hypotheses and assess the various opportunities and develop insightful analyses to propel the business’ evolution
Building and telling strong strategy stories (most often in Powerpoint), supported by data and analyses.
Engaging stakeholders across partner teams to fully account for the intricacies of business problems and corporate agendas.
Manage initiative scoping and prioritization process of strategic activities for partnership with Sun Life’s Client Experience Office (Marketing, Analytics, User Experience, Digital Experience, etc.) to help ensure strategic delivery of the member experience.
Be the point person to support the annual strategic planning process with partner strategy groups within Sun Life Canada.
3-5 years of experience in a strategy role, with preference for individuals who have spent 2 years or more with a recognized strategy consultancy (or equivalent intensive strategy training)
~ MBA or equivalent experience
~ Able to reliably manage and track deadlines, projects and content in a fast-paced environment
~ Presentation skills: this role will entail some public speaking as well as presentations to executive audiences.
~ Resilience, creativity and personability are characteristics that are likely to drive success as good strategy relies on open mindedness with respect to changing directions, building new paths for growth, and understanding the human imperative.
~ As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
